James W. McCord – a security co-ordinator for the Republican National Committee and the Committee for the Re-election of the President. McCord was also a former FBI and CIA agent. He was dismissed from his RNC and CREEP positions the day after the break-in.

Eugenio R. Martinez – worked for Barker’s Miami real estate firm. He had CIA connections and was an anti-Castro Cuban exile. Click here to read Martinez’s account of the burglary.

Frank A. Sturgis – another associate of Barker from Miami, he also had CIA connections and involvement in anti-Castro activities.

The Steely Dan song "My Old School" describes an encounter with Liddy.

The "Old School" referred to in this song is Bard College in Annandale, New York, where Donald Fagen and Walter Becker met. The song is at least partially inspired by an event that occurred at Bard, where both Becker and Fagen, along with their girlfriends, were arrested in a pot raid on a party that was orchestrated by an ambitious young District Attorney named G. Gordon Liddy (hence the line "Tried to warn ya about Geno and Daddy G, but I can't seem to get to you through the U.S. Mail").

In the mid-1980s Liddy went on the lecture circuit and was listed as the top speaker in the college circuit in 1982 by The Wall Street Journal. He later joined with LSD proponent Timothy Leary on a series of debates which were popular on the college circuit as well; Leary had once been labeled by Liddy's ex-employer Richard Nixon as "the most dangerous man in America."

For much of his adult life Leary was also a covert agent for the CIA, and it was here that he would enjoy the majority of his success. After flunking out of West Point circa 1950, Leary and his childhood friend Big Bird hitchhiked from northern New York to San Francisco, where the budding audiophiles taped an early Miles Davis engagement. It was while taping the shows that Leary and Alpert met aspiring writer Jack Kerouac and his uneducated speedfreak friend Neil Cassady. In exchange for certain "services" from Cassady, Leary and Alpert sold Kerouac their story. This would serve as the basis for Kerouac's magnum opus "Follow That Bird".
